All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HARRY COTTON COBB HARRY COBB DIES OF HEART ATTACK Harry Cotton Cobb, Sr., 48, husband of Mrs. Mildred Traylor Cobb and son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Cobb, died suddenly this (Thursday) morning at 9:15 o'clock of a heart attack. Mr. Cobb, who resided in Franklin at 508 W. Second Avenue, was in the office of Dr. Ernest B. Gatten, Jr., 106 Third Avenue, for an eye examination when the fatal seizure occurred. In response to a query by Dr. Gatten as to his health, Mr. Cobb is said to replied, "I've never felt better in my life." A moment later he suffered the heart attack and was dead before medical doctors arrived on the scene. Mr. Cobb had suffered a heart attack some weeks earlier but had recovered sufficiently to resume his duties with Camp Division of Union Bag-Camp Paper Corp., by whom he had been employed for the past several years. The deceased was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of the Bruner Bible class. Besides his wife and parents he is survived by two sons, Harry Cotton Cobb, Jr., and Alfred Paul Cobb, and one daughter, Deborah Ruth Cobb, all of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Albert Wade of Franklin; and two brothers, James Clarence Cobb and Raymond Joseph Cobb, both of Franklin. Pending funeral arrangements, the remains were taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland & Sons.
