PORTSMOUTH - A funeral service for Joseph S. Cobb was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Snellings Funeral Home by the Rev. Ellis N. Clark. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Cobb, 55, of 1623 McDaniel St. died Thursday at 5:22 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness. A native of Franklin, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Mrs. Patsy Fox Cobb. He was a shipfitter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of First United Church of Christ and Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge 273. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Emily C. Lee and Mrs. Sara C. Rakestraw of Portsmouth.
