JOSEPH HENRY COBB

J.HENRY COBB

   Joseph Henry, 80, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died early Tuesday 
morning, May 28 at Raiford Memorial Hospital after an illness of several years. 

   Mr. Cobb was the husband of the late Catherine Jane Vaughan Cobb of Franklin 
and son of the late William Mills and Mary Louise Darden Cobb of Southampton 
County. He was a retired farmer, former hotel operator and merchant of 
Franklin. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. 

   Surviving are one daughter, Miss Anne M. Cobb; two sons, William Lawless 
Cobb and Thomas Ryland Cobb; a granddaughter, Mrs. Antha Jean Ward; a great- 
grandson, Johnnie Anthony Ward; one brother, Linwood Cobb; three sisters, Mrs. 
W.O. Cotton, Mrs. Herbert W. Beaman and Mrs. W. Herman Howell, all of Franklin. 

   Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the graveside in 
Sycamore Cemetery with Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist 
Church, officiating. 

   Pallbearers were Howard Cotton, Russell Cotton, Cecil Vaughan, Ashley 
Vaughan, Robert Howell and Walter Beaman.
