All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES PERCY COBB FRANKLIN - James Percy Cobb, 86, well-known retired farmer and resident of Franklin died in his home on Norfleet Street Tuesday night after an illness of many months. He was the husband of the late Evie Gardner Cobb, and the son of James E. and Catherine Darden Cobb of Southampton County. He was the oldest member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. W.M. Pope of Norfolk, Mrs. John L. Eley, Jr., Mrs. Matthews Turner and Mrs. Robert E. Johnson of Franklin; three sons, J.P. Cobb Jr. of Richmond, Fenton Cobb and Gardner E. Cobb of Franklin; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, four great, great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the home at 605 Norfleet Street Thursday at 4:00 p.m. by the Rev. Thomas Mabe, pastor of Sycamore Baptist Church, and Rev. Robert Davis. Burial will be made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Pallbearers will be Cecil Vaughan, Russell Cotton, Jesse Frank Vaughan, T.A. Darden Sr., Hunter Darden Sr., Herman Eley, Gardner Elliott Cobb Jr., and William Percy Cobb.
