Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Grover C. Holden and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Lewis P. Jervey, A.A. Dempsey, Mike Whitley, Joe Hutt, Walter Barden, and Edward Brooks. Miss Cobb, 22, of Sedley was killed Friday at 8:15 p.m. when an automobile coming from a side road struck the front of the car she was driving. Miss Cobb was headed east on Va. 641 2.9 miles west of Franklin, said State Trooper B.G. Bell, when a car driven by E.A. Daughtrey, 31, of Windsor struck the right front of her vehicle as Daughtrey approached Va. 641 headed north on Va. 611. Miss Cobb’s vehicle overturned in a ditch on the left side of Va. 641, Bell said. She was dead on arrival Southampton Memorial Hospital. Daughtrey was treated at the hospital for cuts of the face, arms, and legs. A native of Isle of Wight County, Miss Cobb was a daughter of Woodrow W. and Mrs. Lilly Powell Cobb. She was a member of Tucker’s Swamp Baptist Church and a secretary for Manry Insurance Agency in Courtland. Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Miss Donna Cobb of Sedley and Mrs. Judy Hasty of Franklin; and grandparents Mrs. B.M. Cobb of Windsor and Mrs. John Powell, Franklin.
