A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Anna Wade Cobb and a son of William M. and Mary Darden Cobb. He was a retired farmer and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Turner of Franklin; three sons, Milard J. Wade of Franklin, Edward S. Wade of High Point, N.C. and John B. Wade of Ashland; a sister Mrs. Carrie Howell of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; and a great grandchild. A funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James C. Luck and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** LINWOOD COBB A funeral service for Linwood Cobb, 85, of 411 Norfleet St., Franklin, was held Friday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James C. Luck and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Vargo, Calvin Burgess, Russell Cotton, Howard Cotton, Robert Howell, Walter Beaman, Ryland Cobb and Billy Umphlette. Cobb died Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 3;30 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Anna Wade Cobb and a son of William M. and Mrs. Mary Darden Cobb. He was a retired farmer and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
