Service Held for Mrs. Cobb 

  Mrs. Lorena Beale Cobb, 84, died Friday, Feb. 28 in Southampton Memorial 
Hospital, in Franklin, after a long illness. 

  Funeral services were held Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons 
Funeral Home, Franklin by the Rev. Ralph Rice.  Burial was in Poplar Spring 
Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were: August Bradshaw, Herman Bradshaw, Leslie Pulley Jr., 
Melton Cobb, Berkley Blythe and Charles Hall. 

  A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Walter H. Cobb and a 
daughter of Mills Beale Sr. and Mrs. Ella Drake Beale.  She was a member of 
Grace Memorial United Methodist Church. 

  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris C. Fowler of Franklin, and Mrs. 
Elsie C. Gwaltney of Smithfield; two sons, Robert H. Cobb of Sedley and 
Lawrence B. Cobb of Danville; one sister, Mrs. Kate B. Blythe of Franklin 
and one brother, Emmett B. Beale of Franklin, ten grandchildren and eight 
great grandchildren.
