MARY ANNA RICKS COBB

MRS. W.R.L. COBB

   Mrs. Mary Anna Cobb, wife of W.R.L. Cobb of Sebrell, died June 19, 1916, in 
her 65th year, from a complication of diseases from which she had suffered for 
twenty years.  She was a woman of strong Christian character, a devoted wife, 
an indulgent and loving mother, a kind and generous neighbor.  She is survived 
by her husband, three sons, L.M. and W.T. Cobb of Sebrell, and W.R.L. Cobb, 
Jr. of Courtland; five grandchildren; one brother, George Thomas Ricks of 
Mississippi; five niece and one nephew. 

   She was the daughter of Robert and Ann Maria Ricks of this county and a 
granddaughter of Judge Griffith Stith of Petersburg. 

   The interment was made in the Sebrell cemetery, funeral services being 
conducted by Rev. W.L. Burks, her pastor and the mound was covered with 
flowers brought by friends and loved ones. 

   The active pallbearers were her three sons and Dr. T.F. Jarratt, Dr. E.F. 
Reese, W.D. Bell; honorary, E.F. Reese, J.E. Sebrell, J.I. Turner, G.B. Vick, 
J.D. Vick, J.L. Cobb, R.R. Reese, W.W. White, B.F. Briggs, J.W. Urquhart, E.W. 
Davis, R.H. Cobb, L.T. Reese, G.W. Reese, L.D. Felts, C.W. Vinson, S.V. Camp, 
J.T. Rowe, C.C. Vaughan and S.R. Nicholson.
