R.D. Stephenson assisted by the Rev. Floyd P. Davis. Active pallbearers will be Lawless, Ryland and William Cobb, Russell and Howard Cotton, Rufus and Charlie Darden. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Mrs. Cobb is survived by her husband, W.M. Cobb, four sons, J.H., Emmett, F.M. and Linwood Cobb; three daughters, Mrs. W.O. Cotton, Mrs. H.W. Beaman and Mrs. W.H. Howell, all of Franklin and three great grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** MARY LOUISE DARDEN COBB Mrs. Mary L. Cobb, wife of W.M. Cobb of our town, died at her home in South Street Sunday night, June 7, after an illness of a few months. She was in her 80th year and was the daughter of the late Joseph Darden and Mrs. Emma Cooper Darden. She was married December 16, 1875 [sic]*, her husband surviving her with seven children, three daughters, Mrs. W.O. Cotton, Mrs. Herbert Beaman and Mrs. Herman Howell; four sons, J.H. Cobb, W.E. Cobb, F.M. Cobb and Linwood Cobb, all of Franklin; one brother, Richard Darden of Holland; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cobb was the oldest woman member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She was a woman of many fine traits of character, a consistent Christian, a faithful wife and a self-sacrificing mother. Funeral services were conducted from her home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 by Rev. R.D. Stephenson and Rev. F.P. Davis. Mrs. G.E. Johnson, Miss Lizzie Mae Cutchins, Percy Bunch and E.K. Brinkley sang "How Firm a Foundation," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Interment was made in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery the bodybearers being, Lawless, Ryland and William Cobb, Russell and Howard Cotton, Hunter, Charlie and Bennie Darden.
