MARGARET TEMPERANCE VAUGHAN COBB

   Mrs. Margaret Temperance Cobb of this town died Saturday, October 9, at 
the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.J. Stephenson of Richmond, after an illness 
several months.  Mrs. Cobb was 83 years of age, a lifelong resident of the 
town and community, a consistent member of the Franklin Congregational 
Christian Church and of the women’s organizations of that church.  Her 
husband, Ed Cobb, well-known Franklin citizen died a number of years ago, 
and she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.J. Stephenson of Richmond and 
Miss Jennye B. Cobb of this town.

   The body was brought of Franklin for burial, services being conducted from 
her late resident in South High Street Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, 
conducted by her Pastor, Dr. Elwood W. Jones, assisted by Rev. J.E. McCauley 
of Richmond.  Burial was made in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery, 
the pallbearers being: Dr. L.L. Vaughan of Raleigh, Cecil Vaughan, 3rd, Dr. 
R.H. Cobb, Linwood Cobb, Charlie Cobb of Drewryville, E.L. Beale, L.B. 
Norfleet and J.R. Boyette.
