SALLIE VIRGINIA BRYANT COBB

   COURTLAND - Mrs. Sallie Bryant Cobb, 82, died Saturday night in a Richmond 
nursing home.

   She was the widow of Allen Bernie Cobb and a daughter of George Thomas and 
Mrs. Mary Alice Eley Bryant.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a lifelong resident of the 
Courtland area.  She was a member of Courtland Methodist Church.

   Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen C. Butler of Franklin; a brother, 
M.R. Bryant of Courtland; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

   A funeral service was held Monday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons 
Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Harold Fuss of Courtland Methodist Church. 
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.

   Pallbearers were Clayton Bryant, Russell Bryant, Gillette T. Bryant, M.R. 
Bryant Jr., Leroy Bryant, Milton Futrell, Stuart Jenkins and Dr. Frank 
Daughtrey.
