A retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Franklin community, he was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. He was the son of James E. and Mrs. Katherine Darden Cobb. Surviving are one brother, James Percy Cobb of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted today at 4 pm at the grave in Sycamore Church cemetery by the Rev. Vivian W. Evans, pastor of Sycamore Baptist Church. ****************************************************************************** John W. Evans, pastor of Sycamore Baptist Church. Mr. Cobb, 82, died yesterday morning in Raiford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. A retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Franklin community, he was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. He was the son of James E. and Mrs. Katherine Darden Cobb. Surviving are one brother, James Percy Cobb of Franklin, and a number of nieces and nephews. ****************************************************************************** JOHN WALTER COBB John Walter Cobb, 82, retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Franklin community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Thursday morning, April 3, after a short illness. A member of Sycamore Baptist Church, the deceased was the son of the late James E. Cobb and Mrs. Katherine Darden Cobb. Surviving him are a brother, James Percy Cobb, and a number of nephews and nieces. Services for Mr. Cobb were conducted at the graveside in Sycamore Church cemetery on Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Vivian W. Evans, pastor of the church. Pallbearers were Fenton Cobb, Gardner E. Cobb, Elliott Cobb, Jr., John L. Eley, Jr., Robert E. Johnson, William M. Pope and Matthew Turner.
