WILLIAM LAWLESS COBB

   FRANKLIN - William Lawless Cobb, 74, of 306 South St., died Saturday in 
Southampton Memorial hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was retired from the Franklin Police 
Dept. as a sergeant after more than 20 years service.  He was a Baptist.

   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Henrietta Dixon Cobb; a sister, Miss 
Ann M. Cobb; and a brother, Ryland Cobb.

   A funeral service will be held today at 3:30 P.M. in Sycamore Church 
Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins.  The body is at W.J.M. Holland & Sons 
Funeral Home.
