Cobb III, 57, a farmer and a native of Southampton County, died Tuesday at 4 p.m. in his home after a heart attack. He was a member of Courtland Methodist Church, Men's Bible Class of Newsoms Baptist Church, and Newsoms Ruritan Club. He was the husband of Mrs. Sarah Blount Cobb and a son of the late W.R.L. Cobb Jr. and Mrs. Lillian Westbrook Cobb. Surviving, besides his widow, are a son, W.R.L. Cobb IV of Newsoms, and two brothers, Edwin W. Cobb of Courtland and Martin R. Cobb of Newsoms. A funeral service will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, Thursday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Allen Lawrence of Newsoms Baptist Church. The body will remain in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, until 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
