Copeland, aged 82, died last Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard Rawls, on the Franklin highway, in Isle of Wight County. Mr. Copeland is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennette Copeland; his daughter, Mrs. Rawls; two sons, Charles R. Copeland of Gibbstown, N.J., and Everett Copeland of Buenos Aires, Argentina; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the Rawls residence Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Dr. N.G. Newman, Dr. Elwood W. Jones and Dr. I.W. Johnson. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery here. Active pallbearers were Tom and Rupert Pierce, Fitzhugh and Jack Copeland, Thomas and Joseph Brickhouse, William Wright and E.B. Rawls.
