LEWIS ELIJA COVINGTON

Lewis E. Covington, age 90, died August 26, 1974.  Survived by two daughters, 
Mrs. J.W. Carwile, Hopewell, and Mrs. Robert Updike, Sussex; six sons, Robbie 
Covington, Saginaw, Mich., James E. and Alex L. Covington, both of 
Drewryville, Harold B. Covington, Franklin, John L. Covington, Portsmouth, 
Gordon L. Covington, Skippers; two sisters, Mrs. B.A. Williamson and Mrs. A.D. 
Mims, both of Salters, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. 
Graveside services 3 P.M. Tuesday, Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.  In lieu of 
flowers family requests that contributions be made to the Capron or Emporia 
Rescue Squads.  Remains rest at Echols Funeral Home, Emporia.
