All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM TRAVIS COVINGTON COURTLAND STUDENT DIES SUDDENLY TUESDAY William Travis Covington, 14-year old son of Lewis E. and Mrs. Lizzie Covington, died suddenly Tuesday morning at his home on the Ivor road. He was a student in Courtland High School. In addition to his parents he is survived by five brothers, James, Harold, Lewis, Jr., Leroy and Gordon Covington and three sisters, Sallie, Ruby and Retha Covington. Funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by the Rev. A.W. Roten with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The pallbearers were selected from his classmates Elliott Parker, Melvin Bryant, Jack Whitehead, Thomas and Augustus Simmons, Clayton Bryant and Hugh Pittman. Several young women of his class acted as flower girls.
