Holland Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. C.L. Gatling, pastor of Sedley Baptist Church. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Cooke, 81, retired farmer and resident of Sedley for 4½ years, died Tuesday in Ridgeway Nursing home near Baltimore. A native of Bertie County, N.C., he was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. He was a son of James Monroe and Mrs. Jane Evans Cooke and the husband of the late Mrs. Eunice Hall Cooke. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W.P. Newsome of Sedley, Mrs. Annie Damm of Washington and Mrs. Ralph Asbell of Suffolk; three sons, C.W. Cooke of Baltimore and James M. Cooke and William H. Cooke of Washington; a brother, Irving Cooke of Roxobel, N.C.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
