(Sykes) Cook, 67, died Tuesday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. He was an Isle of Wight farmer and a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Etta Wells Cook; four daughters, Mrs. Molly E. Todd of Suffolk, Mrs. Annie Bell Warren and Mrs. Amanda E. Nelms, both of Smithfield, and Mrs. Martha A. Turner of Virginia Beach; four sons, Sam William Cook of Waverly, Herbert W Cook of Ivor, James W Cook of Smithfield and Johnny Lee Cook of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs Edna Minton of Smithfield and Mrs. Lucy Spence of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Quinton Cook of Conway, NC, Charlie Cook of Windsor, and Joe Cook of Ivor; and 19 granchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 3 pm today in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church by the Rev. J.W. Horne. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
