All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ SARAH STORY COOK Mrs. Sarah Story Cook, aged 68 years, a well-known resident of Newsoms, died Monday morning, April 7, in the Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond, after several weeks of illness. She was the daughter of the late James and Fannie Bunn Story, of this county, and was for many years an active member of the Newsoms Baptist Church. The deceased in survived by her husband, George T. Cook; three daughters, Mrs. Louise C. Bradshaw, Mrs. Robert Holloman, and Mrs. W.R.L. Cobb, 3rd, all of Newsoms; three sons, Raymond Cook of Portsmouth, William T. Cook of Whaleyville and George T. Cook, Jr. of Newsoms; a brother, James T. Story, Sr. of Newsoms; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the residence in Newsoms on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. W.C. Hughes, assisted by Rev. John W. Morrison of the Methodist Church. Burial followed in the Newsoms cemetery, the pallbearers being J.R. Railey, Milton Worrell, Jack Bunn, Earl Worrell, John W. Drake, E. Benie Carter, Ralph Porter, and Marshall Vick. Sarah C.
