Coggsdale of Gates, N.C., wife of the late Joe Coggsdale died April 20, at Lakeview Hospital following a three months' illness. She is survived by a son, E.J. Coggsdale, of Newsoms; a daughter, Mrs. S.F. Vaughan, of Gates, N.C., three grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Story of Newsoms and Andrew Story of Portsmouth and three sisters, Mrs. N.A. Coggsdale of Newsoms, Mrs. Ada Goodnoll of Portsmouth and Mrs. Josie Lee of Washington. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the residence of N.A. Coggsdale of the Newsoms community with the Rev. J.K. Holman and Rev. L.E. Dailey officiating. Active pallbearers were: Lee Coggsdale, Robert Coggsdale, Clyde Wyatt, Russell Drake, John Wesley Eure and John Paul Turner. Burial was made in the Coggsdale family cemetery.
