JOHN WAVERLY COGGSDALE

HANDSOM - John W. Coggsdale, Sr., 77, a retired farmer and a native of 
Southampton County, died Tuesday in his home.  Mr. Coggsdale was a member of 
Sycamore Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Bertha Harcum Coggsdale; 
four daughters, Doris Carr of Zuni, Annette Harrell of Suffolk, Jean Vaughan 
of Franklin and Evelyn Daughtrey of Holland; four sons, J.W. Coggsdale, Jr. of 
Courtland, Edward Coggsdale and Hubert Coggsdale, both of Franklin and Shelton 
Coggsdale of Suffolk; two sisters, Annie Brock and Mary Duck, both of 
Franklin; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be 
conducted at 2 pm Friday in Wright Funeral Home. Franklin, by the Rev. David 
Adams and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park.
