He was the son of the late Nathaniel A. and Letitia Story Cogsdale of Southampton County [...*]. Mr. Cogsdale was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the Ruritan club, and the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clarice Miles Cogsdale of Newsoms; two sons, James E. Cogsdale of Newsoms, and Thomas N. Cogsdale of Wakefield; four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd D. Taylor, Mrs. B.F. Ellis, Jr., Mrs. P.D. Crumpler, Jr., and Miss Jacquelyn Cogsdale all of Newsoms; four grandchildren; one brother, Robert L. Cogsdale, of Apapka, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. C.E. Revelle of Conway, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. The remains were taken to the W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Newsoms Baptist Church with the Rev. L.L. Smith and the Rev. O.L. Gochenor officiating. Interment was in Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Julian Carter, Beale Carter, George Watkins, Marshall Bick, John Wesley Drake, J.C. Story, Ben D. Rountree and Leroy Dail. James Lee COGSDALE, merchant and farmer, b. There is a line running through the print at the top and middle of many of the papers and it effected many of the obits. I've put elipses for the part that's missing.
