He was the son of the late William and Mrs. Elizabeth Coggsdale and is survived by ten children; Mrs. Clyde W. Burgess and Mrs. W.J. Burgess of Courtland; Mrs. Leroy Bracey of Ivor; Mrs. Ernest W. Bryant of Franklin; Mrs. Jack L. Bryant of Norfolk; Joseph T. and Willie W. Coggsdale of Roanoke Rapids; James R. and Hunter H. Coggsdale of Courtland and Luther R. Coggsdale of Franklin; one brother, J.W. Coggsdale of Courtland, and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the residence Sunday afternoon by Rev. Gordon L. Price, assisted by Rev. H.F. Turner. The choir of the Courtland Baptist Church sang during the service. Interment was made in Nottoway Cemetery*, active pallbearers being; G.C. Kirkland, B.L. Edwards, Earl Holland, J.R. Howell, Jack Bryant, Robt. E. Coggsdale, and C.G. Drake. Honorary bearers were: G.C. Overby, Junius W. Pulley, B.C. Darden, L.A. Whitley, R.G. Edwards, Chas. Blythe, Asa Joyner, R.R. Lankford and Sam Cutchins.
