Coggsdale FRANKLIN - Robert Ellis Coggsdale, 76, of 833 Clay St., died Saturday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Edward Coggsdale and Mrs. Fannie Boyette Jones and husband of Mrs. Myrtle Banks Coggsdale. He was retired automobile dealer, vice president of Franklin Lions Club, and a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Surviving besides his wife are five sisters, Mrs. Mamie C. Jones, and Vashti J. Hawa, both of Franklin, Mrs. Iola C. Teabout, of Norfolk, Mrs. Irene Sleeper, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Katie Korahaes, of Virginia Beach, and one brother, James A. Jones of Franklin. A graveside funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. in Popular Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Coggsdale, 76, was held Sunday, Feb 24, in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. Charles Smith, W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were J.E. Henry, W. Tall Jones, Carlton Cutchin, A.W. Livesay, R.H. Powell III, Charles C. Powell, George H. Parker Jr. and Story Cutchin. Coggsdale, of 833 Clay St., husband of Mrs. Myrtle Banks Coggsdale, died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a member of Franklin Congregational Church, a retired automobile dealer, and a past president of Franklin Lions Club. Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Mamie Jones and Mrs. Vashti Hawa of Franklin, Mrs. Iola Tebout of Norfolk, Mrs. Kate Korahaes of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Irene Sleeper of Tarpon Springs.
