Coggin, formerly of Franklin, who died in Philadelphia this week will be conducted the afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Holland Funeral Home. ****************************************************************************** John E. Coggin, a former Franklin resident, died in Philadelphia Tuesday, February 27, at 2:30 a.m. He was the oldest son of the late S.B. Coggin and Mrs. Lula B. Coggin of Franklin and was 64 years of age. He was a valued employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company here a number of years and left this town about 30 years ago to make his home in Philadelphia, where he lived continuously until his death. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Annie Darden Coggin, formerly of this town; three brothers, S.E. Coggin of Norfolk, William Coggin of Richmond and Rodney L. Coggin of Warsaw, Va., and one sister, Miss Annie Mae Coggin of Richmond. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Church throughout his life, and the burial services were conducted by an old friend of the family, the Rev. Henry E. Walhey of Philadelphia. Services were conducted from the Holland Funeral Home here last Friday afternoon at 2:30, burial following in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The pallbearers were four nephews, Edward Coggin, U.S.N., J.E. Coggin, U.S.N., Shelley Harrell of the U.S. Air Force, and Lloyd A. Darden, and the following: Frank E. Howell, Leland P. Simmons, J. Linwood Edwards and J.P. King.
