Coggin, widow of the late S.B. Coggin of this town, died Wednesday night at her home in Fourth Avenue after a brief illness. Mrs. Coggin was 78 years of age, a native of Northampton County, N.C., making her home in Branchville for a number of years where her husband was agent for the Seaboard Air Line. Mr. Coggin had also served in the same capacity in Franklin where he was well-known and esteemed. Since 1914 Mrs. Coggin had made her home in Franklin. She was a consistent member of High Street M.E. Church, and is survived by seven children; John E. Coggin of Philadelphia, Ed Coggin of Norfolk, Moody Coggin, Mrs. Guy Kelly Marshall of Petersburg, Jas. G. Coggin of Franklin, Rodney M. Coggin of Warsaw, and Miss Annie May Coggin made her home. She also leaves several grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted this (Friday) afternoon at two o’clock from W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Rev. H.W. Davis, pastor of High Street M.E. Church, assisted by Rev. Roscoe Jones, a former pastor, and Rev. R.D. Stephenson. The pallbearers will be: Dr. J.C. Rawls, J. Edward Moyler, C.E. Bunn, J.R. Lawrence, Frank Bunch, J.H. Boyd, G.E. Pillow and J.B. Harcum. Coggins, 78, of Franklin, widow of S.B. Coggins, died Wednesday night after a short illness. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Guy Kelly Marshall of Petersburg, and Miss Annie May Coggins of Franklin; five sons, J.E. Coggins, of Philadelphia, Edward Coggins of Norfolk, Moody and James G.
