Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were John C. Parker, R.B. Allport Jr., Ed Rogers, Charlie Wieters, Tom Barron, Eldridge Smith, Arthur Vaughan, and Stuart Crawford. Coker, 69, a retired civil and construction engineer who worked 33 years at Union Camp Corp. died Wednesday in his home after a long illness. He was a former chairman of the Franklin School Board. A native of Marion, S.C., he has lived here since 1937. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Louise Williams Coker. Until recently he was engineer consultant for Union Camp Corp. He had science and engineering degrees from the University of South Carolina and a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Franklin Baptist Church, and Franklin Rotary Club. Surviving are two sons, E.R.M. Coker of Franklin and C.F.W. Coker of Raleigh; two daughters, Mrs. Wade C. Wieters of Clinton, S.C., and Miss Flora Wiley Coker of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Edward C. Coker Jr. of Clinton and Allen M. Coker of Aiken, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
