All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARIE GWALTNEY CUTCHIN FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Mrs. Marie Gwaltney Cutchin, 73, was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Wright Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were: Mack Gwaltney, William H. Cutchin, C.L. Cutchin Jr., Jack Hall, Clem Medkiff, Lacy Paulette. Mrs. Cutchin died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Franklin Woman’s Club and Carrsville Homemakers club. A native of Isle of Wight County she was the widow of Leonidas Cutchin Sr. She had lived at Sycamore Farms for 47 years. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and a graduate of Madison College and the College of William and Mary. She taught in the public schools of Isle of Wight County for many years. Survivors include a son, Leonidas Cutchin Jr. of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Victoria Spivey of Windsor, Mrs. Sarah Edmondson, of Purcellville and Mrs. Margaret Paulette of Charlottesville; two brothers, William Perry Gwaltney of Portsmouth and Hugh Gwaltney of Windsor; and five grandchildren.
