Raymond Edward Cutchins Jr., 51, died March 23, 2000. Born in Suffolk, he was a 1966 graduate of Windsor High School and 1970 graduate of VPI. Mr. Cutchins was an Assistant Right of Way Manager with the Virginia Department of Transportation and had worked with VDOT for 30 years. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Margaret Cobb Cutchins; his mother, Gladys Duck C. Pope of Carrsville; two daughters, Christine Cutchins Byrum and her husband, Jeffrey Lee Byrum, of Windsor, and Jennifer Lyn Cutchins of Louisville, Ky.; two stepsisters, Velna Griffin of Suffolk and Jean Brown of Franklin; a brother, E.T. Pope Jr. of Windsor; and a granddaughter, Heather Leigh Byrum. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Edward Cutchins Sr. and his stepfather, Eldridge Pope Sr. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Dr. Richard E. Peerey officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Gladys Pope, 31339 Community House Drive, Carrsville.
