All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ SAMUEL CUTCHINS* Sam Cutchins, 54, a well-known merchant of the Hunterdale community, died at his home on Thursday night, April 13, as the result of a heart attack. He was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Bradshaw Cutchins of Southampton County, and held membership in Union Christian Church. He was a member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lowe Cutchins, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Sykes, both of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Caroon and Mrs. Charlie Joyner, both of Franklin, and Mrs. Leroy Harcum of Portsmouth; three brothers, Harvey, Clyde and Joe Cutchins, all of Franklin; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Mr. Cutchins were held at Union Christian Church at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, his pastor, Rev. R.E. Brittle of Suffolk, officiating. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the active pallbearers being Marvin Whitley, W.H. Scott, J.G. Joyner, Sr., Edgar Blythe, Dr. T.A. Morgan, Stafford Blythe, Jimmie Asteris and R.R. Lankford.
