All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM LEONIDAS CUTCHIN William Leonidas Cutchin, well-known citizen of the Franklin community in Isle of Wight County, died suddenly March 29, in his 61st year. Mr. Cutchin was the son of the late Hillary and Mrs. Cherry Cutchin and is survived by a large family connection in Isle of Wight and Nansemond counties and this town. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and a Spanish-American War veteran, going to Cuba with old Company "I" of Franklin, and was a member of the Vaughan-Causey Camp Spanish-American War Veterans of Suffolk, a number of his comrades attending the funeral. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Josie Etta Cutchin; one son, Leonidas Cutchin, and a sister, Mrs. A.W. Hayes, all of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by his Pastor, Rev. R.D. Stephenson, and burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery here. The active pallbearers were: R.A. Johnson, Willie Bradshaw, Jesse Johnson, Clarence Spencer, Clifford A. Cutchins, W.D. Williams, C.J. Cutchin and W.E. McClenny.
