Survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Fisher Claud; 2 daughters, Mrs. Patricia Dawson of High Point, N.C., Miss Claudette Claud of Courtland; 1 son John Thomas Claud, Jr., of Richmond; his mother Mrs. Katie Thomas Claud of Drewryville; 1 sister, Mrs. Robert Stewart of Suffolk; 1 brother, Mr. R.D. Claud of Drewryville. Funeral services 2:30 p.m. Friday at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, Drewryville, with burial in Drewryville Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** JOHN THOMAS CLAUD DREWRYVILLE - A funeral service for John Thomas Claud Sr., 62, of Drewryville, was held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Thomas Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy Arnold. Burial was in Drewryville Cemetery with Echols Funeral Home of Emporia in charge. Pallbearers were V.S. Pittman Jr., Edward Trice, Leslie Claud, Sam Pope Jr., R.S. Cable, Harrold McGrath, Charlie Settle and Maxie Day. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ethel Fisher Claud and a son of Mrs. Katie Thomas Claud of Drewryville and the late John William Claud. Besides his widow and mother, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Dawson of High Point, N.C., and Miss Claudette Claud of Courtland; a son John Thomas Claud Jr. of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Robert Stewart of Suffolk; and a brother, R.D. Claud of Drewryville. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Tuberculosis Association.
