ALLEN BERNARD CLAYTON 

   Funeral services for Allen Bernard Clayton, 81, who died last Friday at 
Ivor, where he had lived throughout his entire life, were conducted last 
Sunday afternoon at the graveside in Ivor Cemetery by the Rev. Julian Orrell, 
pastor of the Baptist Church there.  Mr. Clayton died at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. Archer R. Gardner, after a long illness. 

   The widower of Mrs. Belle Bradshaw Clayton, who preceded him in death seven 
years ago, Mr. Clayton leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Roger G. Harrell of 
Norfolk and Mrs. Mack D. Hobbs of South Norfolk, a brother, Paul Clayton of 
Zuni; two granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was the son 
of the late Allen Augustus and Margaret Heffington Clayton of Southampton 
County. 

   Pallbearers were Dr. E.M. Babb, L.T. Saunders, Jr., W.C. Rawls, R.B. 
Pulley, Marsden Pulley, John P. Clayton, Richard Clayton and L.A. Brantley.
