Grover C. Holder. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, was in charge. Pallbearers were John R. Clayton, Bobby Young, Harry Griffin, Russell Johnson, Joseph Clayton and Billy Phillips. Mrs. Clayton, 83, died Sunday night in a Suffolk hospital after an illness of two weeks. A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of John Robert and Mrs. Josephine Johnson Horne. She was a former Isle of Wight County schoolteacher. She was the widow of Arthur Clayton and member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving are nieces and nephews.
