All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ STAFFORD VERMONT CAMP Stafford Vermont Camp, Sr., 82, [...*] farmer of Southampton county, died at his home in Sebrell at 11:30 o’clock Sunday, March 28, after months of ill health. He was the son of the late George Thomas and Harriett Holt Camp, of Southampton County, and husband of the late Romine Sebrell Camp. He was an active member of Sebrell Methodist Church, where he had served for many years on the board of stewards and as a teacher. He will long be remembered for the active part he took in the affairs of his community and county, where he was an influential and honored citizen for so many years. He is survived by a son, Stafford V. Camp, Jr., of Sebrell; seven daughters, Mrs. W.B. Simmons, Jr., and Mrs. George U. Siegrist, of Sebrell, Mrs. H.H. Chappell of Sedley, Mrs. B.W. Mahood and Mrs. J.T. Everett, of Emporia, and Mrs. John Devaney and Mrs. W.J. Myers of Philadelphia; fifteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in Sebrell Cemetery, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. C.A. McCormic. The pallbearers were Stafford V. Camp, III, William B. Simmons, III, Jimmy Everett, Rainey Hundley, Percy Gillette, Ernest Goodrich, Ed Horton, and Charles Bailey, Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. There is a line running through the print at the top and middle of many of the papers and it effected many of the obits. I've put elipses for the part that's missing.
