Campbell Dies at Franklin Residence Franklin, Oct. 1 - Robert Courtney Campbell, 58, prominent citizen of this town, died suddenly today at his home. Mr. Campbell had been a resident of Franklin for 25 years and was owner of the Franklin Grocery Company. He had served as a member of the school board and on the town commission. He was a director of the banking house of Vaughan & Co., a deacon in the Franklin Baptist Church and a teacher of the Young Men’s Bible Class. Surviving him are his wife and six children, Mrs. Lyle Smith, Misses Edith and Muriel Campbell and James Campbell of Franklin; Fred M. Campbell, of West Point; Miss Zephia Campbell, of Westhampton College, and Thomas Campbell, of Virginia Polytechnic Institute; a sister, Mrs. W.E. Wright, of Tappahannock, and two brothers, the Rev. P.H. Campbell, of Stuart Draft, and Tazewell Campbell, of San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will take place at Franklin Baptist Church Friday afternoon, at 3:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
