HERBERT GEORGE COUNCILL

   Franklin - A funeral service for Herbert George Councill, 93, will be held 
Thursday at 2 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. William Everhart.

   He died Tuesday in Riverside Hospital, Newport News.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary 
Davidson Councill.

   He was a retired farmer and a member of Franklin Congregational Christian 
Church.

   Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Buxton of Newport News and 
Mrs. Marilyn Colclough of Alexandria; two sons, the Rev. H.G. Councill, Jr. of 
Warsaw, N.Y. and Warren Councill of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Sheffield of 
Suffolk; a brother, R.C. Councill of Franklin; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-
grandchildren.

   Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
