She was a retired secretary. A daughter of George Thomas and Nellie Rodmond Councill, she was a lifelong resident here and a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers, B.W. Councill of Holland and Thomas A. Councill of Franklin, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie R. Councill of Franklin. A funeral service will be conducted in Poplar Spring Cemetery Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. The body was taken to W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J. Vaughan Beale, Thomas Holland, W.H. Cutchins, Clyde Eley, Irving Beale, III, Wesley H. Beale and Roger I. Beale.
