ISAAC P. COUNCILL SR. 

   PHILADELPHIA, PA. - A funeral service for Isaac P. Councill Sr. was conducted 
June 28 in Philadelphia.  Council, 100, died in his home Friday after a long 
illness.

   A native of Southampton he was a son of Thomas and Mrs. Elizabeth Councill of 
Handsom and the husband of the late Mrs. Sara A. Cobb Councill.

   He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Philadelphia. Educated 
in the public schools of Southampton County, Virginia State College, Petersburg 
and Hampton Institute, he was a retired teacher.

   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louise Councill Tate, Philadelphia, Pa., 
with whom he made his home and Mrs. Christine Councill Johnson; one son, Isaac 
P. Councill Jr.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Susie 
Branch and Mr. and Mrs. James Jones attended the funeral.
