Richard T. Diekmann. Wright Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were: Jim Councill, Chris Councill, Scott Councill, Andrew Councill, C.P. Rountree, Leonard Winslow, Bob Ostrosky and Mike Sweeney. Mrs. Councill died Sunday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Northampton County, N.C., she was the widow of James Paul Councill Sr. She was Franklin’s first florist and operated the business for over 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church and Franklin Garden Club. Survivors include three sons, Del. J. Paul Councill Jr. of Franklin, Phillip Andrew Councill of Richmond and Edward Winslow Councill of Washington; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Irva Gertrude (WINSLOW; Mrs. James P.
