Councill of this town, who has been in ill health for some time, died suddenly at his home in Norfleet Street last Thursday. Mr. Councill was a native of the Black Creek community, this county, and had made his home in Franklin for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rhoda Councill; a son, Hurley Councill; and one brother, J.J. Councill. Another son, Bernard Bryan Councill, was killed in action overseas in the World War. Funeral services were conducted here Saturday afternoon by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Baptist Church and interment was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The body bearers were: C.H. Hayes, J.H. Scott, H.G. Councill, J.T. Councill, W.M. Wester, R.B. Scott and L.B. Blythe.
