COUNCILL Funeral services for John R. Councill were held in Chase City Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. H.T. Williams, and the body was brought to Franklin where interment was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Rev. R.D. Stephenson officiating at the grave. Mr. Councill, who was a native of this county, had been for many years a resident of Franklin and was employed at the Franklin post office. He was later employed in the post office at Chase City where on Friday he was stricken with paralysis and died. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Coley Councill of Chase City; two daughters, Mrs. R.W. Owen of Stony Creek and Mrs. Paul Dyal of New York; a brother, E.A. Councill of Burdette; three sisters, Mrs. J.G. Johnson and Mrs. Livy Holland of Windsor and Mrs. Ed Hatfield of Burdette. Active pallbearers were: Lee Emory, Edgar Leach, Frank Wester, William Fitts, H.V. Shugart and George Reid. John R. COUNCILL, Post Office employee, formerly of Franklin, b.
