JOSEPH TIBERIUS COUNCILL 

   Joseph Tiberius Councill, 74, well known retired farmer and resident of 
Southampton County, died at his home suddenly early this morning (Thursday) 
after suffering ill health for several months.

   Mr. Councill was the husband of Mrs. Annie Wester Councill of Franklin and 
son of the late James Jordan and Martha Elizabeth Scott Councill, of this 
county.  He was a member of the Bethel Friends Meeting.

   Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Joseph Russell Councill of 
Norfolk and Lawrence Wester Councill of Franklin; two grandchildren, Lawrence 
Wester Councill, Jr., and Miss Joyce Ann Councill of Franklin; and two 
sisters, Mrs. R.J. Rountree and Mrs. T.J. Cox, and two brothers, Robert J. 
Councill and J. Paul Councill, all of Franklin.

   The remains were taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland & Sons pending 
funeral arrangements.

   Funeral services for Joseph Tiberius Councill, 74, of the Hunterdale 
community, who died on Thursday, April 21, were conducted at the graveside in 
Poplar Spring Cemetery on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.  Rev. James A. 
Coney of the Bethel Friends Meeting officiated.

   Pallbearers were Mills Beale, Jr., W.E. Harcum, R.R. Lankford, H.L. Pace, 
Otis Rainey, hersey Scott, Joe Scott and Isaac White.
