Mrs. Councill was the daughter of the late William and Martha Wester of Southampton county and widow of John O. Councill, of Franklin. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Lillie Maie Councill and one son, Hurley Councill, of Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted from her residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** RHODA ANN WESTER COUNCILL Mrs. Rhoda Ann Councill, aged Franklin citizen, died at her home on Norfleet Street Monday night after a long illness. Mrs. Councill, who was 82 years of age, was the daughter of the late William and Mrs. Martha Wester of this county, and the widow of John O. Councill, who died several years ago. Mrs. Councill is survived by a daughter, Miss Lillie Maie Councill, and a son, Hurley Councill, and was one of the Gold Star Mothers of this county, her son, Bernard Bryan Councill, being killed in action overseas during the World War. She was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, funeral services being held from her late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by her Pastor, Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being: George Watkins, Cecil Vaughan, 3rd, Franklin Edwards, L.B. Blythe, Randolph Griffin, J.T. Councill, William Wester and Hersey Scott.
