ROBBIE CLARENCE COUNCILL

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Robbie Clarence Councill, 93, was held 
Saturday at 2 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Revs. Richard T. Diekmann 
and W.A. Grissom.  Wright Funeral Home was in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Vaughan Beale, Emerson Jones, Darden Jones, William 
Howell, J.P. Bradshaw, L.E. Edwards, Virgil Miller and Rupert Tart.

   Councill died Thursday in a hospital.

   A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was the husband of Ruby H. Councill. 
He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church, its board of trustees 
and Men’s Bible Class and was a former deacon.  He was a charter member of the 
Franklin Lions Club and P.D. Camp Hunt Club.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Dorothy C. Beale, and son Robbie C. 
Councill, Jr., both of Franklin; a sister, Rosa C. Sheffield of Suffolk; six 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Congregational Christian Church or 
the Franklin Rescue Squad.
