GEORGE WARREN CONWELL

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for George Warren Conwell, 66, was held 
Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and 
Allen Melton.  Wright Funeral Home was a charge.

   Conwell died Monday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Margaret Johnson Conwell.

   He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and was secretary-treasurer of 
Franklin Transportation Co.

   Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leigh Conwell White of Columbia, 
Md., and Mrs. Frances Conwell Stepp of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother Hudson Conwell 
of Franklin; and a grandchild.
