FRANKLIN - Arthur Clifton Carr Jr., 61, of the 3000 block of N. High St. Ext., a retired farmer, died Feb. 4 in a Suffolk hospital. Mr. Carr, a Southampton County native, was a Army veteran of World War II. He was a deacon and trustee of Black Creek Baptist Church and a member of Black Creek Burdette Ruritan Club and Black Creek Hunt Club. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Cobb Carr; two daughters, Anita C. Magette of Courtland and Kathy C. Bryant of Windsor; a son, Wayne L. Carr, and two brothers, Miles L. Carr and Hugh E. Carr, all of Zuni; and eight grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Sunday in Black Creek Baptist Church by the Revs. Edmund Ellis, Willis Switzer and Waverly Horne. Burial will be in the family cemetery.* Memorial donations may be made to the church.
