A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Mrs. Ada Bryant Carr and the late George E. Carr. For the last six years he had owned and operated Zuni Kennels and before that worked in the Norfolk Post Office 18 years. He was a member of Zuni Presbyterian Church and Zuni Hunt Club. Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Madge Spivey Carr; four stepdaughters, Mrs. F.W. Thompson, Jr., of Huntington Park, Calif, Mrs. Kenneth White of Shallote, NC, Mrs. Peggy E. Smith of Wilmington, NC and Mrs. Bruce Norton of Greenville, Tenn; and seven step grandchildren. A funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 pm in Purviance Funeral Chapel; by the Rev. J.W. Horner. Burial was in Tucker Swamp Cemetery, Zuni.
