Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hank Bernstein, Clements Gouldman, Elliott Cobb, Paul Councill Jr., Dr. Robert G. Edwards, Jessie Sinclair, Chester Burgess Jr. and Mack Coker. A native of Richmond, he lived here 30 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Janice Madron Crawford and a son of the late Jamie Robert and Mrs. Effie Cottrell Crawford. He was a consulting chemical engineer. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Omega Delta Kappa Fraternity, Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry, Air Pollution Control Association, Virginia Water Pollution Control Association, American Chemical Society, and the Board of Review of Boy Scout Troop 125, Franklin. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond. Besides his widow, surviving are two sons, Stuart C. Crawford Jr. of Perry, Ga. and Thomas Carter Crawford of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara C. Rideout, and a stepsons, Joseph C. Chase, both of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Doris Peters of Richmond; a brother, Calvin Crawford of Washington; and four grandsons.
